Pranavi remains in Top-10 contention as rain-hit La Sella Open shortened to 54 holes

Asian Games-bound Indian golfer Pranavi Urs remained in contention for a top-10 finish at the weather-hit La Sella Open after the Ladies European Tour event was reduced to 54 holes due to persistent rain and thunderstorms.

Pranavi, who did not get to hit a shot on Saturday after play was suspended, is tied eighth at four-under after rounds of 69 and 71.

She is one of two Indians to have made the cut. Avani Prashanth, who secured her place with a long birdie putt on the 18th in the second round, is tied 49th.

Diksha Dagar, Vani Kapoor and Hitaashee Bakshi missed the cut.

Play on the third day was disrupted by heavy rain, followed by thunder and lightning. With conditions deemed unsafe and further disruption expected, officials decided to shorten the tournament by one round.

The second round had eventually resumed at 3 pm on Saturday, but the third round will now also serve as the final round.

England's Charlotte Heath will take a four-shot lead into the final round. Heath, who shot a seven-under 65 on Friday, remained at the top of the leaderboard despite not playing a shot on Saturday.

She leads at 11-under, four strokes ahead of Australia's Maddison Hinson-Tolchard and Poland's Dorota Zalewska, who are tied second at seven-under.

Pranavi will now have one final round to challenge for a top-10 finish.
