Pranavi Urs wins historic Asian Games gold in women’s individual golf

Pranavi Sharath Urs scripted history on Saturday by winning the gold medal in the women’s individual stroke play event at the 2026 Asian Games, becoming the first Indian woman to claim the top prize in individual golf at the continental Games.

Urs produced a composed performance to finish at the top of the leaderboard and secure a landmark gold for India.

The victory marks a significant moment for Indian golf, which has produced several medal-winning performances at the Asian Games over the years but had never previously won gold in the women’s individual event.

Urs’ achievement adds another medal to India’s campaign at the 2026 Asian Games and opens a new chapter for women’s golf in the country.
