Pranati Nayak qualifies for vault finals at Asian Games

India's lone gymnast at the Asian Games, Pranati Nayak, qualified for the vault final in artistic gymnastics with a seventh-place finish here on Tuesday.

The three-time bronze medallist at the Asian Gymnastics Championships was seventh among the 19 gymnasts who qualified for the vault final, scheduled for September 24.

Pranati scored 13.000 in her first vault, with 4.4 in difficulty and 8.600 in execution.

She then recorded 12.433 in her second vault, scoring 4.0 in difficulty and 8.433 in execution.

The Bengal gymnast finished seventh overall with an average score of 12.916.
