POWERGRID wins PMIS Partner Company Award

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna PSU under Ministry of Power, was conferred with PMIS Recognition of Partner Company Award under the category ‘Innovation in Exit Pathways’ on Friday, 14th August 2026.
The award was received by Yatindra Dwivedi, Director (Personnel), along with BK Mundu (ED-HRD) and team from Pallavi Jain Govil, Secretary (MCA), in the presence of Anshuman Patnaik, Additional Secretary and D Balamurugan, Joint Secretary, in the ceremony held by Ministry of Corporate Affairs at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
To provide better employment opportunities, POWERGRID has facilitated in coordination with Sector Skill Council ie Power Sector Skill Council (PSSC), uploaded the details of all PMIS interns, who have undergone training in POWERGRID in the Rozgaar portal of PSSC and all the agencies working in the field of power transmission have been informed suitably about the exit pathways.
The Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) was launched in December 2024 and POWERGRID has joined as a partner company in this prestigious scheme on a pan-India basis. Till December 2025, POWERGRID has actively participated in both the Pilot Rounds 1 & 2 and offered a total of 6,265 internship opportunities under PMIS.
To provide better employment opportunities, POWERGRID has facilitated in coordination with Sector Skill Council ie Power Sector Skill Council (PSSC), uploaded the details of all PMIS interns who have undergone training in POWERGRID in the Rozgaar portal of PSSC and all the agencies working in the field of power transmission have been informed suitably about the exit pathways. This also covers candidates undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and skill Development initiative of POWERGRID in the area of Power transmission line Tower Erection & Stringing.
As of 31st July 2026, POWERGRID has commissioned and is operating 292 Sub-Stations and more than 1,86,889 km transmission lines and 6,37,016 MVA of transformation capacity. With the adoption of the latest technological tools and techniques, enhanced use of automation and digital solutions, POWERGRID has been able to maintain an average transmission system availability of more than 99.84%.
