PM Modi marks Operation Sindoor anniversary calls it fitting response to Pahalgam terror attack

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, describing it as a “fitting response” to those responsible for the terror attack in Pahalgam.
Marking one year of the military operation, Modi praised the courage, precision and professionalism of the Indian armed forces, saying the operation reflected India’s firm stand against terrorism and its commitment to safeguarding national security.
In a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister said the armed forces displayed “unparalleled courage, precision and resolve” during Operation Sindoor and gave a strong reply to those who attacked innocent Indians in Pahalgam.
Modi also highlighted the growing coordination among India’s armed forces and said the operation showcased the strength of indigenous defence capabilities under the country’s self-reliance push in the defence sector.
Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7, 2025, following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians. The operation targeted terror infrastructure linked to cross-border militant groups across multiple locations.
The Prime Minister reiterated that India remains steadfast in its resolve to defeat terrorism and dismantle its support networks. He also urged citizens to change their social media display pictures as a tribute to the armed forces and their role in Operation Sindoor.
