PDA people will form PDA govt in UP, establish social justice: Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow, Sep 7 (PTI) Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Monday termed PDA an "alliance of progressive and positive people", claiming the PDA government will establish social justice and hence, they (apparently referring to the BJP) are having a stomach ache.
Akhilesh Yadav coined the acronym PDA in June 2023, which stands for 'Pichhde' (backward classes), Dalits and 'Alpsankhyak' (minorities).
Speaking to reporters in Lucknow, Yadav said, "The PDA is an alliance of progressive and positive people. The 'pidhit' (harassed), 'dukhi' (sad) and 'apmaanit' (humiliated) people must come to the PDA as a common thread of pain binds them. PDA people will form a PDA government and will establish social justice. This is the reason they are having 'pate dard' (stomach ache)."
Pointing towards reporters, he said, "You have to fill in the blanks for A. You know what A stands for -- one who changed the names of the cities; he has also changed his name.
Earlier on Sunday, Yadav called BJP's Uttar Pradesh in-charge Vinod Tawde "pagal" (crazy) after he gave a new definition to "PDA": "paraya dhan apna".
Yadav said the ruling BJP knows better how to grab someone else's "dhan" (money) and make it its own.
The former chief minister's response came a day after Tawde, who was named UP in-charge in August, said the BJP would challenge the SP's PDA formula, which stands for 'pichhda' (backward classes), Dalit, and 'alpsankhyak' (minorities).
"The in-charge has come, which is a good thing. 'P' stands for in-charge ('prabhari'), and P also stands for 'pagal'," Yadav had told reporters in Bidhuna (Auraiya district).
"They not only know how to make someone else's wealth their own, but they also know how to make party money their own. Who knows better than the BJP how to make someone else's wealth their own?" he said.
