Parliament monsoon session to be held from July 20 to August 13

The Monsoon Session of Parliament will be held from July 20 to August 13, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced on Saturday. The session has been convened following the approval of President Droupadi Murmu on the recommendation of the Union government. It is expected to witness discussions and debates on several important legislative and national issues.
In a post on X, Rijiju said the session would provide an opportunity for "meaningful debate, discussion and decisions on issues of national importance." Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha are expected to take up pending bills, policy matters and other key legislative business during the nearly four-week session. The government is also likely to introduce new bills and seek approval for important legislative proposals.
The Monsoon Session comes at a crucial time, with several political, economic and governance-related issues expected to dominate proceedings. The Opposition is also likely to raise matters of public interest, making the session an important platform for debate and accountability. Parliamentary committees have already begun preparatory meetings ahead of the session.
