AI-Powered Super Computing Technology-Param Pragya is the 21st-century new superpower era for our nation’s new-age history of growth. Government of India, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Delhi’s fast forward this initiative has placed our nation in the global map as a superpower in computing. India has stepped into the 6th supercomputing Industrial revolution. It has rewritten the computing chapter revolution of our nation, which will open huge avenues and opportunities, especially for young talents who are most capable to solve real-time research problems. AI-powered enabling technologies such as cybersecurity, blockchain, and most importantly the quantum computing will get a great push and boost in several sectors of data science, supercomputing science and engineering. This will be a big game changer for our nation’s supercomputing economy.
Param Pragya acts as a complete holistic technology, and also the first step for young minds whose computing knowledge has started from class 3rd in the form of inducting computational thinking as a subject to meet the objectives of National Education Policy 2020. The present decade has enabled ease of access to resources and technology for young minds who can tinker with computing technologies.

India has traversed and transformed from conventional computing to supercomputing and achieved a huge milestone in opening the Param Pragya at Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Delhi. This big initiative is a collaborative effort of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Pune, under the National Super Computing Mission (NSM). It is the stack of success for our nation. This supercomputing facility also reflects the starting of new computing technological yatra of our nation from scratch to success by developing supercomputing public infrastructures across the nation, like Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) Bengaluru, S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Science, Kolkata [Paramrudra] which will push our country’s both security and also social impact as well.
SN Bose National Centre for Basic Science provides computing resources at the cost of 1.6 paisa Per CPU Core Per minute and 70 paisa Per GPU card per minute. Students and faculty members can avail these facilities through online mode and perform high end complex research across several domains.
Param Pragya is indigenously developed and architect by scientists/ researchers in India that adds to the supercomputing series of Swadeshi technologies — PARAM Siddhi, PARAM Pravega, and the PARAM Rudra systems. Param Pragya is one of the distinguished pillars of India’s technological strength and adds strength to Digital India Mission. It gives access to the global countries and thereby establish a shared research and technological ecosystem for our nation. This will reinforce international and inter-collaborations with industry, universities and startups, research laboratories. It will enhance the industrial and institutional research across PAN India.
Parap Pragya will boost Sarvam AI, Bhashini and BharatGen as well. And also, it reflects silent development, speed and scalability of technologies that are deployed across different applications in India.
Param Pragya — Projected potential applications
Param Pragya AI power supercomputing will solve complex computing problems and challenges in defence security, space explorations, maritime, nuclear forensic, energy security, disaster management, smart farming, healthcare, which includes genomic domain and fintech sectors as well. With Param Pragya AI power supercomputing, India’s big genome data base will foster frugal innovations especially in health care sector. India has made a strong foothold in
strengthening forensic sector. It could also be extended to AI powered crime scene investigations in forensic domain as well.
Parap Pragya will enhance institutional and industrial research as well. Param Pragya utilise high powered GPUs and AI chips so this will boost India’s home-grown industrial infrastructures and manufacturing capability of GPUs and AI enabled semiconductor chips which in turn will facilitate India’s National Semiconductor Mission as well. These systems will enhance the manufacturing capability of our nation and also in future will facilitate the Indian MSMEs and startups as well.
Param Pragya brings Parivartan to India’s economy through new and next generation revolution technologies like Artificial intelligence thereby train large language models (LLM), high powered neural networks, process massive data both video and audio.
It will also penetrate deep into the global market and thereby facilitate the integrated supply chain ecosystems and foreign trade as well. This will enhance the keen interest of international players to access supercomputing markets in India and across the globe.
Viksit super computing
India remembers the Prime Mantra of Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi: Self-Reliance, Technological Self-Reliance, Industrial Self-Reliance. Param Pragya is the first and forward step for the Viksit supercomputing Self-reliance technology. Param Pragya will give a big boost and added a strong foundation for research and development, especially research supported by Anusandhan National Research Foundation [ANRF], Prime Minister Research Fellowship.
Young talents from different sector will be able to tinker various supercomputing simulations using the Param Pragya both at micro and macro level. Pram Pragya has made a paradigm shift in India’s computing power sector. Young minds from various branches of STEM can explore various experimentations and dwell into the deep technologies. Param Pragya spreads its wings across India’s space and showcases clear visibility of technological power of our nation.
