Over 48,000 new voter claims filed in Delhi’s SIR in first 12 days, west district leads

More than 48,000 fresh Form-6 applications for new voter enrolment have been filed across Delhi during the first 12 days of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) claims and objections window, according to the latest daily bulletin issued by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi, taking the cumulative total of such applications since the process began to over 2.6 lakh.

The bulletin, dated September 13, provides a district-wise breakdown comparing applications received up to August 30, before the claims and objections period opened, against those received between August 31 and September 12, the period during which citizens have been able to formally contest or seek correction of entries in the draft electoral roll.

According to the data, 48,322 new Form-6 applications, used for enrolling new electors, were filed across Delhi’s 13 districts during this 12-day window, adding to the 2,12,400 such applications received before August 30. This takes the overall total of Form-6 applications to 2,60,722.

West district recorded the highest number of fresh Form-6 applications during the claims period, with 6,007 filed between August 31 and September 12, followed by South East district with 4,710 and North East district with 4,252. New Delhi district recorded the lowest activity in this category, with just 1,037 new Form-6 applications filed during the same window.

Form-7 applications, used to object to a proposed inclusion or seek deletion of an existing entry, saw 603 new filings during the claims period, taking the cumulative total to 52,074. West district again led this category during the claims window with 98 filings in East district, while South East district recorded 118 Form-7 applications in the same period.

Form-8 applications, used for shifting residence, correcting particulars or replacing EPIC cards, saw the sharpest activity, with 16,325 fresh applications filed during the 12-day claims window alone, pushing the cumulative total to 2,77,093. North East district recorded the highest number of new Form-8 applications during this period at 1,906, followed closely by East district at 1,878 and South district at 1,597.

Form-6A applications, meant for overseas Indian electors seeking addition to the rolls, remained comparatively low, with 106 new applications filed during the claims period, taking the cumulative total to 1,457.
The CEO’s office reiterated that the Draft Electoral Roll, published on August 31, 2026, remains available for viewing and download on its official website, as well as at individual polling stations. Citizens whose names do not appear in the draft roll have been advised to file Form-6 along with the prescribed declaration and supporting documents to seek inclusion in the final roll.

New applicants who will attain the age of 18 on or before October 1, 2026, have also been permitted to apply through Form-6 for inclusion in the electoral roll. Citizens seeking to update their address or correct existing entries have been directed to use Form-8.

According to the schedule outlined in the bulletin, all claims and objections received till September 30, 2026, will be disposed of by October 29, 2026, with the final electoral roll scheduled for publication on November 4, 2026.
