Opposition politicising NEET-UG row, leak accused would not be spared: NDA

NDA leaders in Bihar on Thursday said opposition parties are politicising the cancellation of the NEET undergraduate examination and trying to “mislead” students. They said strict action would be taken against the accused involved in the NEET paper leak, and no one will be spared.
The NEET (UG) 2026 exam held on May 3 was cancelled on Tuesday amid allegations of paper leak, with the CBI registering an FIR after the Government asked it to carry out a comprehensive inquiry into the “irregularities”.
Talking to reporters here, JD (U) Bihar unit president Umesh Singh Kushwaha said, “The authorities concerned have already initiated action against those who indulged in the NEET-UG paper leak case. Strict action will be taken against the accused... no one will be spared. Opposition members are simply politicising the matter and trying to mislead students.”
Kushwaha also praised the austerity measures recently announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to meet the challenge of disruptions to fuel and other supplies caused by the West Asia conflict.
“Following the PM’s recent appeal to embrace fuel conservation, state Governments, including Bihar, have started taking significant steps in that direction. The decision has been taken in the interest of the country,” he said.
Echoing a similar view, BJP national spokesperson, Guru Prakash Paswan, said, “Several state Governments took a broad set of measures as part of the austerity drive following the PM’s appeal.
