9 killed in Lakhimpur Kheri road accident after truck hits vehicle

At least 9 people were killed in a tragic road accident this morning in Lakhimpur Kheri after a speeding truck collided head-on with a Magic vehicle on the Pilibhit-Basti highway.
The accident took place near Adalispur village, around 40 kilometres from the district headquarters. According to officials, ten people, including two women, were travelling in the Magic vehicle when the collision occurred.
Police said the impact of the crash was extremely severe, dragging the Magic vehicle nearly 10 feet before it came to a halt. Several passengers suffered critical head injuries, while some became trapped between the seats. Two passengers were reportedly thrown out onto the road due to the force of the collision.
Emergency responders and police personnel rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. One injured passenger was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Officials said the Magic vehicle was travelling from Lakhimpur towards Sisaiya when the truck, coming from the Bahraich side, rammed into it from the front.
The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. Police have launched a search operation and further investigation into the incident is underway.
