NHPC celebrates World Environment Day
NHPC celebrated World Environment Day 2026 with a series of environmental initiatives across its offices and project locations nationwide, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation.
The observance was led by Bhupender Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), NHPC, at the company’s Corporate Office in Faridabad. Gupta inaugurated the celebrations by planting a sapling and launching a plantation drive as part of NHPC’s nationwide campaign.
The event formed part of NHPC’s coordinated World Environment Day activities conducted across its Corporate Office, Regional Offices, Power Stations, Projects and other units throughout the country. The initiatives underscored the organization’s continued focus on promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
Addressing employees and officials on the occasion, Gupta emphasized the importance of collective efforts in protecting the environment and encouraged individuals to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives. He highlighted the need to preserve ecological balance and conserve natural resources for future generations.
The CMD also stressed the significance of environmental responsibility and urged employees to actively contribute towards building a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future.
Senior officers and employees participated enthusiastically in the programme by planting saplings within the office premises. The event reflected NHPC’s ongoing commitment to environmental protection and its broader sustainability goals.
