NHPC celebrates 80th Independence Day

NHPC celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day on Saturday at the NHPC Corporate Office, Faridabad, with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The programme commenced with a group singing of the National Song. Thereafter, Bhupender Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, NHPC, hoisted the National Flag, followed by the collective singing of the National Anthem.
On the occasion, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects), Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical), Mahesh Kumar Sharma, Director (Finance), Paresh R. Ranpara, Director (Personnel), NHPC, along with other senior officers and employees of the Corporation and their family members, were present. Senior officers and employees of NHPC’s various regional offices, power stations, projects and units located across the country also joined the celebrations through live webcast.
On this occasion, Bhupender Gupta extended Independence Day greetings to the entire NHPC family and highlighted the important role of the energy sector in achieving the goal of a developed India. He said that energy security and energy self-reliance are the cornerstones of a developed India, and NHPC is playing an important role in providing reliable and clean energy to the nation.
He stated that the responsibilities entrusted to NHPC in the areas of renewable energy, pumped storage and energy storage reflect the Government of India’s confidence in NHPC’s expertise and capabilities.
