NBCC to build new AP Bhavan, signs MoU with Andhra Govt

NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh for the planning, design and construction of the new Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi at an estimated project cost of Rs 105.5 crore, excluding GST and Project Management Consultancy (PMC) charges. The project will be executed on a turnkey deposit work basis.
The MoU was signed by Pravin Kumar, IAS, Resident Commissioner, Andhra Pradesh Bhavan, Government of Andhra Pradesh, and Anil Kumar, Chief General Manager (Engineering), NBCC (India) Ltd., in the presence of Dr KP Mahadevaswamy, Chairman and Managing Director of NBCC, Arja Srikanth, Special Commissioner, Andhra Pradesh Bhavan, and Dr. Suman Kumar, Director (Commercial), NBCC.
According to the agreement, the proposed Andhra Pradesh Bhavan will have a built-up area of approximately 2.49 lakh square feet. As the designated executing agency, NBCC will be responsible for the complete execution of the project, including preparation of architectural concept plans, detailed structural drawings, contract management, open tendering and construction.
The two sides have also agreed to sign a separate MoU in the future for handing over comprehensive annual maintenance of the building to NBCC or one of its subsidiaries for a minimum period of five years.
The new Andhra Pradesh Bhavan is expected to serve as a modern administrative complex for the state Government in the national capital. The project is also intended to showcase contemporary architecture while strengthening the state’s institutional presence in New Delhi.
NBCC said it will leverage its expertise in project management and infrastructure development to deliver the facility in line with the project’s objectives.
