MoU signed between State Planning Department and Art of Living
In a significant development aimed at promoting sustainable growth, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged between the Department of Planning, Economics & Statistics of Madhya Pradesh and the Personality Development Centre of the Art of Living Foundation at the Mantralaya, in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The MoU marks a collaboration between both institutions in key areas such as water conservation, sustainable agriculture, rural livelihood generation, village development, women empowerment, environmental conservation, gaudhan promotion (cow welfare), de-addiction, health and social welfare, and quality education.
This partnership is designed to support the state government’s initiatives towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promote the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, aid in policy formulation, improve the evaluation of government schemes, and conduct surveys to drive long-term development goals under Vision@2047. The MoU exchange event saw the presence of Sanjay Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Department of Planning, Economics & Statistics, Rishi Garg from the Madhya Pradesh State Policy Commission, and Rohan Jain and Ajit Bhaskar, representatives of the Art of Living Foundation, among others.
The Art of Living Foundation, led by Padma Vibhushan Shri Shri Ravi Shankar ji, is recognized for its holistic initiatives aimed at capacity building and holistic development. The Foundation runs a variety of programs tailored for diverse groups, including police personnel, scientists, armed forces, Panchayati Raj representatives, youth, teachers, and students. It is also actively involved in areas such as water conservation, natural farming, skill development, rural development, afforestation, de-addiction, prison reform, and the development of border villages. The Foundation has strong partnerships with various state governments, ministries, and departments of the Central Government. Notably, it has signed an agreement with the Government of India's Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) under the "Karmayogi Bharat" initiative to implement capacity-building programs for government officials.
