MoS Kirti to visit Myanmar

At the invitation of the Government of Myanmar, Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Kirti Vardhan Singh, will undertake an official visit to Myanmar from April 8 to 11, 2026. The visit underscores India’s continued commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with its eastern neighbour and enhancing cooperation across key sectors.
During the visit, Singh will represent India at the inauguration ceremony of the new President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, scheduled to take place on April 10 in Nay Pyi Taw. His participation in this significant national event reflects the importance India attaches to its diplomatic engagement with Myanmar and its support for ongoing political processes in the country. Beyond the ceremonial engagement, KV Singh is expected to hold meetings with senior dignitaries of the Government of Myanmar in Nay Pyi Taw.
These discussions are likely to focus on advancing bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, connectivity, development assistance, and environmental collaboration.
India and Myanmar share a multifaceted partnership, with initiatives spanning infrastructure development, capacity building, and cross-border connectivity projects that are crucial for regional integration.
