‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ crosses Rs 150 crore at domestic box office

"Mirzapur: The Movie", starring Ali Fazal, Divyenndu and Pankaj Tripathi, has crossed the Rs 150-crore mark at the domestic box office.
Released on September 4, the film marks the first big-screen outing for the "Mirzapur" universe, which began as a streaming series in 2018 and became one of India's most successful OTT franchises over three seasons.
According to trade tracking website Sacnilk, the film opened with a gross collection of Rs 30.90 crore on its first day. It followed that up with Rs 38.4 crore on Saturday and Rs 43.05 crore on Sunday, taking its opening weekend collection past the Rs 100-crore mark.
The film's total domestic gross currently stands at Rs 150.32 crore, Sacnilk reported.
"Mirzapur: The Movie" returns to the lawless world of the franchise, where the battle for power continues through bullets, betrayals and bloody rivalries. Set in 2018, the film explores an untold chapter from the first season of the popular series.
Rasika Dugal, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Shweta Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee reprise their roles from the series, while Jitendra Kumar, Ravi Kishan and Sonal Chauhan join the cast in new roles.
The film is presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment.
