Maruti Suzuki announces Rs 35,000 crore investment for new manufacturing facility in India

Maruti Suzuki India has announced a ₹35,000 crore investment to establish a new automobile manufacturing facility near its existing operations in Gujarat, marking one of the company's biggest expansion projects in the country.
The announcement comes as India and Japan continue to strengthen their industrial partnership, with the project expected to significantly boost the country's automobile manufacturing capacity.
The proposed facility will have an annual production capacity of up to 10 lakh vehicles, making it one of Maruti Suzuki's largest manufacturing hubs.
The investment is aimed at meeting rising domestic demand, increasing exports, and supporting the production of future hybrid and electric vehicles. The project is also expected to generate thousands of direct jobs while creating substantial indirect employment through suppliers, logistics, and ancillary industries.
The expansion aligns with the Government of India's 'Make in India' initiative and reinforces Maruti Suzuki's long-term commitment to the Indian market.
Once operational, the new plant will strengthen India's position as a global automotive manufacturing hub while enhancing the company's production capabilities to meet future market demand.
