Ludhiana to host 'Jashan-e-Inquilab' on Bhagat Singh's birth anniversary on Sep 28
A programme titled 'Jashan-e-Inquilab' will be held at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) ground in Ludhiana on September 28 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Punjab AAP leader Baltej Pannu said on Sunday.
Pannu said the event would celebrate Punjab's cultural heritage, music, history and the legacy of its martyrs.
The programme will feature a performance of the renowned play "Gagan Damama Bajio", with Punjabi artists Ranjit Bawa and Kulwinder Billa, besides various 'dhadi jathas', he said.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, along with ministers and MLAs, will attend the celebration, Pannu said while addressing the media.
He said the programme would also remember Sukhdev, who hailed from Ludhiana, and Rajguru, whose sacrifices, along with that of Bhagat Singh, are closely associated with Punjab's revolutionary legacy.
"Along with Shaheed Bhagat Singh, we will remember Shaheed Sukhdev, who belonged to Ludhiana, and Shaheed Rajguru. Their sacrifices are an inseparable part of our history, and through this programme we want to ensure that the younger generation remains connected with their legacy," Pannu said.
Pannu appealed to people to attend the event with their families and encouraged those wearing turbans to come dressed in yellow turbans.
"Our younger generation must learn about our history, understand the sacrifices of our martyrs, and take pride in the rich cultural heritage of Punjab," he said.
Pannu said the programme would showcase Punjab's musical and cultural identity and highlight the global recognition of Punjabi music.
"Punjabi music has earned recognition not only in Bollywood but across the world. Through 'Jashan-e-Inquilab', we want to showcase the many colours of Punjab's music, culture and traditions," he said.
He said the event sought to revive the spirit of 'Rangla Punjab' and keep the younger generation connected with the state's cultural identity and traditions.
