KTR urges Supreme Court inquiry into concerns over Election Commission

Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president K.T. Rama Rao has urged the Supreme Court to take suo motu cognisance of concerns about the Election Commission of India’s functioning. Speaking at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday, he called for a court-monitored inquiry, saying the poll body faced a crisis of public confidence.

Rama Rao said the court should examine what former election commissioners had said about the Commission. He also recalled leading a BRS delegation to meet the three election commissioners over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. He said the party had raised concerns during the Bihar elections and sought greater clarity about the revision process.
