Jaipur : Woman suffers 15 stitches as fan falls at hospital, ambulance delay adds to ordeal
A 59-year-old woman visiting her sister at Jaipur's Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital suffered a head injury after a ceiling fan fell on her in the hospital's ENT ward on Monday evening.
The woman, identified as Renu, suffered an injury that required 15 stitches, according to the hospital administration.

The incident took place at the hospital's Charak Bhawan.
Renu, a resident of Karauli, had gone to visit her sister Santosh, who had undergone ear surgery at the hospital.
Renu was sitting on a table near her sister's bed when the ceiling fan suddenly fell on her head.
She was taken to the hospital's trauma centre, where doctors treated the injury and put 15 stitches on her head.
Family alleges delay in ambulance
Renu's family alleged that she remained in the ward for around 10 to 15 minutes before nursing staff called an ambulance.
They claimed the ambulance took another 10 to 15 minutes to arrive.
The incident has drawn criticism from the Opposition, with Rajasthan Assembly Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully targeting the state government over the condition of public healthcare facilities.
"The education and healthcare systems of the state are in the ICU under the BJP's double-engine government while the government is unconscious in the intoxication of power," Jully said.
Jully alleged that Renu and her family had to wait nearly half an hour for treatment and an ambulance.
He also alleged that unsafe infrastructure was putting people at risk in both schools and hospitals, saying children faced dangers from unsafe school structures while patients seeking treatment were being endangered by falling ceiling fans.
