Indian diaspora welcomes PM Modi in Seychelles

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received an enthusiastic welcome from the Indian community upon his arrival in Seychelles on Saturday for a three-day State visit, during which he will attend the island nation’s National Day celebrations as the guest of honour.
At Seychelles International Airport, President Patrick Herminie personally welcomed the Prime Minister along with senior Government officials. Modi was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour, underscoring the importance of the visit and the strong ties between the two countries.
Members of the Indian diaspora gathered in large numbers outside the airport, waving Indian flags and greeting the Prime Minister with great enthusiasm. Modi interacted briefly with several members of the community as they celebrated his arrival.
The welcome ceremony also showcased India’s rich cultural heritage through traditional dance performances. One of the highlights was a folk dance from Kutch, reflecting the enduring cultural connections maintained by the Indian diaspora in Seychelles.
