India will shape solutions for the world: PM at AI summit

Exploring multiple exhibition pavilions, engaging with start-ups, researchers, and technology leaders showcasing artificial intelligence or AI applications across all the sectors, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the India AI Impact Expo 2026 summit, at Bharat Mandapam. The Prime Minister also visited various stalls at the venue and spoke with companies as well as startups participating in the expo.
The Expo has over 600 high-potential startups and 13 country pavilions displaying international collaboration in the AI ecosystem. As the first major AI summit hosted in the Global South, the event underscores India’s ambition to shape global AI norms while advancing domestic capacity.
Earlier in the day, Modi also said that India stands at the forefront of AI transformation and its strides in artificial intelligence reflect both ambition and responsibility. However, he also highlighted the role of AI across diverse sectors including healthcare, education, agriculture, governance and enterprise.
Taking to X, PM Modi said, “Being here among innovators, researchers and tech enthusiasts gives a glimpse of the extraordinary potential of AI, Indian talent and innovation.” The Prime Minister further said that those participating “would shape solutions not just for India but for the world.”
In a post on X, Modi said, “Bringing the world together to discuss AI! Starting today, India hosts the AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. I warmly welcome world leaders, captains of industry, innovators, policymakers, researchers and tech enthusiasts from across the world for this Summit.”
The theme of the summit is “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya” or welfare for all, happiness for all, reflecting our shared commitment to harnessing artificial intelligence for human-centric progress, he said.
Modi pointed out that AI today is transforming several sectors, including healthcare, education, agriculture, governance and enterprise. The AI Impact Summit will enrich global discourse on diverse aspects of AI, such as innovation, collaboration, responsible use and more, he said. “I am confident that the outcomes of the Summit will help shape a future that is progressive, innovative and opportunity-driven,” Modi said. “Thanks to the 1.4 billion people of India, our nation stands at the forefront of the AI transformation. From digital public infrastructure to a vibrant StartUp ecosystem and cutting-edge research, our strides in AI reflect both ambition and responsibility,” the prime minister said.
PM Modi visited the Jio Intelligence Pavilion at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, where he reviewed AI-powered models and solutions. The Prime Minister also saw live demonstrations of Jio AI Stack, Jio Sanskriti AI, Jio Arogya AI, Jio Shiksha, and Jio AI Home. Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited Chairman Akash Ambani briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Jio’s comprehensive AI ecosystem and its role in accelerating digital transformation across sectors.
