In Next-Gen push, Chhattisgarh widens road to jobs, skills
With its youth-centric development agenda, the Chhattisgarh Government is making a concerted push on skills, employment, higher education, entrepreneurship and sports.
Around 9,000 vacant Government posts are being taken up for direct recruitment. A new Chhattisgarh Staff Selection Board has been constituted to make Class III and IV recruitment integrated, transparent and time-bound, according to an official statement.
To restore confidence in recruitment system, tough provisions to curb paper leaks, impersonation and electronic cheating have been introduced, with 3–10 years’ imprisonment, fines of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore and property confiscation for offenders.
The push extends to competitive examination preparation, with the government’s CG-ACE initiative providing free coaching for NEET, CLAT, JEE, UPSC, CGPSC, banking, SSC and railway examinations through a Rs 33-crore allocation.
“Our youth are Chhattisgarh’s biggest strength and hope for the future. We want to ensure that everyone gets access to quality education, skills, opportunities and a transparent system. Youth empowerment is central to our vision of a developed Chhattisgarh, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India,” said Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
Budgetary allocation for higher education has risen by nearly 50 percent, from Rs 1,212.75 crore in 2023-24 to Rs 1,822.75 crore in 2025-26.
Five Government colleges are being developed as Centres of Excellence at Jashpur, Raipur, Durg, Baloda Bazar and Raigarh. Chhattisgarh Institutes of Technology (CGIT) have been developed in Kawardha, Jashpur, Raigarh and Jagdalpur on the lines of premier institutions such as IITs. Further expansion is planned at Raipur, Bilaspur and Durg under the new fiscal budget.
Equal importance has also been given to the technical education ecosystem. An amount of Rs 484.22 crore has been sanctioned to transform 160 ITIs in the state into state-of-the-art Model ITIs, while 17 ITIs are being modernised under the STRIVE project.
