IIT (ISM) Dhanbad to host R&D fair from April 6

The IIT (ISM) Dhanbad in Jharkhand will host a two-day national research and development fair from April 6 on innovation-driven growth, an official said on Saturday.
Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar will inaugurate the ‘IInvenTiv 2026’, which will be attended by prominent dignitaries and industry leaders, including Athar Sahab, managing director of Zuari Industries, Vaishali Nigam Sinha, co-founder of ReNew Foundation and Sandeep Kumar of Tata Steel, according to a statement issued by the institute.
“IInvenTiv 2026 is not just about showcasing innovations, but about creating pathways for their adoption and impact. By bringing together academia, industry and investors, we aim to accelerate the journey from ideas to implementation and contribute meaningfully to India’s innovation-driven growth,” IIT (ISM) Director Prof Sukumar Mishra said.
By aligning research outputs with national priorities, the platform aims to speed up the journey from laboratory prototypes to scalable, market-ready solutions, while reinforcing India’s push towards ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and Make in India, the release said. The two-day event will also feature MoU signings, seed fund support to startups, technology demonstration zone inaugurations, investor interactions, academia-industry matchmaking, and startup pitching sessions, it added.
