IEI to host Engineering India’s Global Footprint summit in Delhi
The Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI) will host the “Engineering India’s Global Footprint: Technology, Talent and Trust” summit on September 19 at the SCOPE Convention Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, academicians and engineering professionals to discuss India’s growing role in the global engineering and technology landscape.
The full-day summit will also feature the presentation of the 18th IEI Industry Excellence Award and the 5th IEI Engineering Education Excellence Award. A Union Minister is expected to address the inaugural session, which will also feature senior representatives from industry, academia and government.
The summit will include three technical panel discussions focusing on India’s transition from Atmanirbhar Bharat towards a globally competitive engineering economy, strengthening engineering education and research capacity for Viksit Bharat, and fostering collaboration among industry, academia and startups to develop internationally competitive products.
A business connect session, networking dinner and the evening awards ceremony will form part of the programme. Instituted in 2008, the IEI Industry Excellence Award recognises engineering organisations for sustained performance in areas including operations, innovation, quality and governance. The 2026 awards cover categories such as engineering manufacturing and processing, engineering services and consultancy, construction, MSMEs, startups, industrial innovation, emerging technology leadership, sustainable engineering practices, and defence and aerospace.
The Engineering Education Excellence Award recognises engineering colleges, polytechnics, women’s engineering institutions and individual contributions to teaching, research and industry collaboration. Winners undergo a two-stage evaluation, including jury assessment.
Dr Ranga Reddy Enti, Chairman, IEI Awards 2026, said the awards aim to highlight organisations and institutions contributing to India’s engineering capabilities through talent development, research and globally relevant products.
Established in 1920, IEI has more than 2.6 lakh corporate members across 15 engineering disciplines and operates through 124 State and Local Centres and six Overseas Chapters.
