ICEYE sets up India operations in New Delhi

ICEYE, a global leader in sovereign intelligence from space, has formally established ICEYE India, with operations based in New Delhi, marking a significant expansion of its presence in one of the world’s most important defence and space markets.
The announcement comes as India observes National Space Day, underscoring the growing strategic importance of space-based capabilities to national security, resilience and technological advancement. ICEYE India will focus initially on supporting Indian defence and intelligence customers with advanced Earth observation and intelligence capabilities designed to strengthen national security and resilience.
ICEYE plans to establish manufacturing capabilities in India, serving defence, surveillance and environmental monitoring requirements through local sourcing, Indian suppliers and engineering talent.
Rafal Modrzewski, CEO and Co-founder of ICEYE, said: “ICEYE India means real engineering and manufacturing capability on the ground. We’re excited to build this together with the government and local partners and to support India as it strengthens its own sovereign intelligence capability.”
ICEYE is exploring collaborations with Indian launch providers, electronics and component manufacturers, and technology partners. Its localisation strategy aligns with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision of building domestic industrial and technological capabilities.
