IC3 at 10: When Information Isn't Enough — Why the World's Educators Are Gathering in Mumbai

There is a widening gap at the heart of education today, and it has nothing to do with access to information.
Students in India and across the world have never had more resources at their disposal. Rankings, scholarships, career pathways, and university profiles across dozens of countries, all a search away. And yet, decision-making among young people has not become easier. It has become more layered, more anxious, and more dependent on external validation than ever before.
The challenge is not one of access. It is one of depth. Information is abundant. The ability to make sense of it, to weigh options across different countries, systems, and an ever-expanding set of career pathways with real clarity, remains elusive for most students navigating it alone.
The World Students Are Navigating
The complexity facing students today is real and growing. Artificial intelligence is not only reshaping what careers look like but also opening up entirely new pathways that did not exist a decade ago. The range of choices available, in terms of what to study, where, and what kind of future to build, has expanded dramatically. At the same time, immigration policies across major study destinations continue to shift, and geopolitical tensions add a further layer of uncertainty to already difficult decisions.
Indian students in particular are increasingly exploring multiple countries simultaneously, weighing different pedagogies, different education systems, post-study work opportunities, and long-term trajectories across geographies they may have little direct knowledge of. For universities seeking to engage this growing cohort of globally mobile students, the imperative is equally clear: ensuring that the educators and counselors who influence student decisions truly understand what each institution offers and what kind of student experience and outcome it enables. The education landscape has never offered more possibilities or demanded more informed engagement from every stakeholder within it.
"Students today have access to more opportunities and information than ever before," says Ritika Singh, Executive Director, IC3 Movement. "What is becoming increasingly important is ensuring they also have access to thoughtful guidance and support systems that help them navigate these opportunities, and that requires schools, universities, and organizations to come together, engage, and build those bridges collectively."
Why Forums Like This Have Never Mattered More
In a world where information is everywhere, what moves the needle for a student is not another database or ranking tool. It is the quality of the ecosystem around them, the school that understands the global landscape, the university representative who can speak meaningfully to what an institution offers and for whom, and the educator who has sat in the same room as counterparts from multiple countries and come back with a perspective no algorithm can replicate.
This is precisely the gap that the 10th Annual IC3 Conference & Expo is designed to address. Taking place on 19–20 August 2026 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, the conference is one of the largest gatherings of its kind, bringing together schools, universities, and organizations from across the world to engage, exchange, and collectively strengthen the ecosystem that serves students.
For universities, it offers direct access to a global counselor and educator community spanning multiple countries, an opportunity to educate counselors about their unique learning architecture, academic programs, and student experience, ensuring that the people who influence student decisions are well-informed advocates. For high schools, it is a space to engage with emerging trends and connect with institutions around the world, empowering educators to offer their students the right advice at a time when the options available to them have never been more diverse or complex. For organizations working with schools and universities, it is an opportunity to understand the emerging learning needs shaping the sector and to share how their products and solutions can help schools and universities advance their educational agenda.
The conference theme, "Looking Deeply: From Information to Insight," anchors the conversation precisely where it needs to be: in an age where everyone has access to information, what distinguishes institutions and educators is the depth of understanding they bring to the students and communities they serve.
The gathering will also feature voices from science, policy, law, and institutional leadership, all examining, from distinct vantage points, the same essential question: How do we help young people not just access information but develop the wisdom to act on it?
A Decade in the Making
The 10th Annual IC3 Conference is a milestone. Ten years ago, the IC3 Movement was founded on the conviction that every student deserves access to meaningful guidance, regardless of where they study or where they are from. What began as a question: What if every school were connected to this global conversation? — has grown into a movement spanning over 6,600 schools and 912 universities across 104 countries.
Over that decade, IC3 has built a community that is now one of the most active in global education, one that comes together each year not just to talk but to strengthen the connections and shared understanding that make a real difference to students navigating an increasingly complex world.
The 10th conference is both a celebration of that journey and a renewed commitment to what lies ahead.
