Passenger deboarded from Hyderabad-Kadapa flight after accidentally triggering emergency exit alarm

A 35-year-old passenger was deboarded from a flight at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport after accidentally touching the aircraft’s emergency exit door handle and triggering a sensor alarm, police said on Friday.
The incident took place on Thursday as the Hyderabad-Kadapa flight was preparing for take-off from the airport.
According to police, the passenger accidentally touched the emergency exit handle while adjusting his seat while the aircraft was stationary. The contact activated the door’s sensor alarm, following which airline staff deboarded the passenger.
The passenger was subsequently handed over to police at the RGIA Police Outpost for questioning. During the inquiry, officials found that he had unintentionally touched the emergency exit handle.
Police said a written statement was obtained from the passenger before he was allowed to leave. No case was registered in connection with the incident.
