Honey Singh meets BJP Leader Tarun Chugh, joins Drug-Free Punjab Campaign

Singer and rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh met BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh in Amritsar on Tuesday to discuss ways to strengthen the campaign against drug abuse in Punjab.
During the meeting, Honey Singh expressed concern over the growing drug problem in the state and its impact on families and young people. He said Punjab’s identity should be associated with “milk, curd and ghee, not drugs,” while appealing to youngsters to stay away from substance abuse and adopt a healthier lifestyle.
The singer also announced that he would support efforts aimed at making Punjab drug-free and work alongside Tarun Chugh to spread awareness among the youth. Videos shared after the meeting showed the two sharing milk while delivering a message against addiction.
Tarun Chugh praised Honey Singh’s personal journey of battling addiction and recovering from it, describing his story as an inspiration for young people facing similar struggles. He said the singer’s influence and music could play a major role in motivating the youth to reject drugs.
Honey Singh, who has previously spoken publicly about his struggle with substance abuse and mental health, urged youngsters not to go near intoxicants that nearly destroyed his own life.
The campaign comes as the BJP intensifies its focus on the issue of drugs in Punjab ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
