Heavy rain disrupts flight operations in Delhi, Mumbai; Airlines issue travel advisories

Heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions disrupted flight operations in Delhi and Mumbai, prompting major airlines to issue travel advisories and urge passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport. The ongoing monsoon has affected schedules, with delays and possible disruptions reported at both cities' airports.
IndiGo said bad weather over Delhi had impacted flight schedules and advised passengers to allow extra travel time due to rain-related traffic congestion. The airline said its teams are closely monitoring the weather to ensure safe operations.
Air India also cautioned that adverse weather could affect flights to and from the national capital, urging travellers to verify the latest flight status before leaving for the airport. SpiceJet issued a similar advisory, warning that heavy rain in both Delhi and Mumbai may impact arrivals, departures, and connecting flights.
The travel disruptions come as monsoon showers continue to affect normal life in several parts of the country. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cloudy skies, light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds over Delhi-NCR over the next few days, while Mumbai continues to witness heavy rainfall and weather-related transport disruptions.
Passengers have been advised to monitor airline updates, keep extra travel time in hand, and stay informed about weather-related changes before commencing their journey.
