Lieutenant General VMB Krishnan, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, Army Commander, Eastern Command, reviewed the operational preparedness of the Red Shield Division of the Army’s Spear Corps on May 20.
He also visited the Red Shield Drone Lab at Leimakhong Military Station to assess strides made in indigenous unmanned aerial systems (UAS) technology and specialised combat training. He also witnessed live demonstrations of customised, mission-specific platforms engineered to dominate the region’s complex terrain and peculiar operational dynamics. A cornerstone of this initiative remains the technical empowerment of vanguard personnel through structured modules, equipping troops with niche technology to operate and maintain these advanced assets under adverse field conditions.
This enterprise underscores the unwavering commitment toward the ethos of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, ensuring frontline formations remain a lethal, self-reliant, and future-ready force capable of neutralising evolving modern security challenges.
