GMDA intensifies enforcement drive across city
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has intensified its enforcement action against encroachments across Gurugram, with a continued focus on keeping roads and public spaces free from unauthorised occupation. Chief Executive Officer, GMDA, PC Meena has directed the enforcement teams to maintain sustained action against encroachments and ensure that areas freed from encroachment remain free from re-encroachment.
The latest enforcement drive, led by DTP GMDA RS Batth on Thursday, addressed around 15 kilometres of road stretches across various parts of Gurugram. Multiple enforcement teams were deployed at different locations to undertake action against encroachments and restore public spaces for their intended use.
On the Basai Road (9B/10) and Sector 37C/10 stretches, covering around 3 kilometres, action was taken against several types of encroachments. Approximately 65 tin sheds, ramps and 10 carts were removed from the Basai Road stretch. On the combined stretches of Sector 37C/9B, Sector 37C/37D and Sector 37D/9B, around 3.7 kilometres of road were taken up for enforcement action.
The enforcement drive was further extended to the Sector 102/102A stretch, where around 1.5 kilometres were addressed, and approximately 20 carts and three nursery-related encroachments were removed.
PC Meena said that GMDA will continue its strict enforcement action against unauthorised encroachments across the city.
Around 2 kilometres of the Sector 103/106 stretch were also addressed, during which approximately 30 unauthorised boards were removed.
The enforcement teams also undertook action on the sector dividing roads between Sector 51/52, Sector 51/57 and Sector 52/57, collectively covering around 4 kilometres.
Approximately 10 JCB machines, along with dedicated enforcement teams, were deployed during the drive, with teams’ assigned separate stretches for enforcement action. The teams are also maintaining close watch on the areas freed from encroachment to prevent re-encroachment.
