Ghaziabad Municipal Commissioner hears public grievances

Ghaziabad Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik heard public grievances under the ‘Sambhav’ programme and directed concerned officials to take prompt action on all 19 references received during the public hearing.
Of the 19 grievances, eight pertained to the Construction Department, one to the Health Department, one to the Horticulture Department, three to the Street Lighting Department, three to the Property Department, one to the Tax Department, and two to the Jal Kal (Water Works) Department.
The concerned departments of the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation immediately took action on the complaints.
The Municipal Commissioner said that under the Sambhav programme, the department aims to address grievances received during the public hearing on the same day.
Several elected councillors also raised issues in their respective wards and put forward suggestions in residents’ interest. Councillors from Ward No. 24 (Maharoli), Ward No. 74 (Vasundhara), Ward No. 89 (Vaishali), Ward No. 18 (Rajapur) and Ward No. 88 (Gandhi Nagar) discussed various civic issues. They offered suggestions for improving facilities in their areas.
Mega drive to remove illegal encroachments in Vijay Nagar
The hearing also received a specific complaint about illegal encroachment in Vijay Nagar.
Taking the issue seriously, Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik directed the concerned departments to conduct a joint mega enforcement drive in Vijay Nagar and take strict action against illegal encroachments.
During the public hearing, the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation also initiated action on various complaints received.
Additional Municipal Commissioner Renu Singh, General Manager (Jal Kal) Kamakhya Prasad Anand, In-charge Horticulture Dr Anuj, Municipal Health Officer Dr Mithilesh, Chief Tax Assessment Officer Anirudh Kumar, along with officials of the Street Lighting Department, were present during the hearing.
Special Street Lighting Campaign Ahead of Festivals
In view of the upcoming festivals, the Municipal Commissioner also directed the Street Lighting Department to undertake a special campaign across all wards to ensure street lights function properly and are properly maintained.
The complainants appreciated the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation’s prompt response and action during the Sambhav public hearing and expressed gratitude for the timely resolution of their grievances.
