GDA vice-chairman inspects Nehru Cricket Stadium

Vice-Chairman of the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA), Nand Kishore Kalal, conducted a site inspection of Nehru Cricket Stadium at 8:00 am on Sunday along with MLA Sanjeev Sharma and senior officials of the authority. During the inspection, the vice-chairman reviewed in detail the facilities provided to players, youngsters, and the general public, along with cleanliness, maintenance, and other arrangements at the stadium.
Kalal directed the concerned maintenance agency to further improve cleanliness and maintenance arrangements and ensure regular cleaning, proper upkeep and high-quality maintenance work throughout the stadium premises.
The following major works will be carried out at the stadium: Construction and improvement of the walking track, installation of an open gym, strengthening of the street-lighting system, development of stadium as a plastic-free zone, development of gardens and green areas, improvement and smooth functioning of the drainage system, repair and upgradation of toilets and related facilities and installation of water coolers.
He emphasised that all works must be completed in a time-bound and quality-driven manner, keeping public interest as the top priority. He stated that providing clean, safe and better facilities to players, youngsters and visitors to the stadium is a key priority of the Authority.
Kalal also stressed the need to develop the stadium premises into a clean, green, well-maintained and modern sports facility, so that Nehru Cricket Stadium can emerge as a major centre for sports and health facilities for the players and youth of the city.
