GDA holds 174th board meeting in Ghaziabad
The 174th Board Meeting of the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) was held on Thursday at the Conference Hall of the GDA under the chairmanship of Bhanu Chandra Goswami, Commissioner, Meerut Division and Chairman of the Board.
The meeting was attended by Ravindra Kumar Mandar, District Magistrate, Ghaziabad; Kavita Meena, District Magistrate, Hapur; Nand Kishore Kalal, Vice-Chairman, GDA; Vikramaditya Singh Malik, Municipal Commissioner; Satish Kumar, Joint Director, Treasury and Pension, Meerut Division; Vishal Bharti, representative of CTCP and Chief Coordinator Planner, NCR Cell, Ghaziabad; and Pradeep Kumar Satyarthi, Regional Manager, UPSIDA. In addition, nominated Board members Keshav Tyagi and Pawan Goyal were also present.
The meeting witnessed detailed discussions and deliberations on several important proposals aimed at providing a new direction to the present and future urban development of Ghaziabad.
The board meeting held detailed discussions on an important proposal concerning the development of an international cricket stadium. The proposal included acquisition of land owned by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) through land pooling, along with proceedings related to the Draft MoU and Feasibility Report for the construction of the stadium.
The project may also create new opportunities in sports training, promotion of local sporting talent, allied services and event management. The Board held detailed discussions on the proposed new residential scheme of the Ghaziabad Development Authority, ‘Haranandipuram’, which is proposed to cover a total area of 501.2173 hectares.
Along with residential development, the scheme provides for commercial areas, community and social facilities, green and recreational spaces, and adequate provisions for transportation.
The Board discussed important proposals concerning the conversion of Group Housing plots in the Koyal Enclave Residential Scheme for Plotted Development. One of the major plots measures 12,868.88 square metres, while another measures 2,020 square metres.
The Board also held detailed discussions on a proposal concerning the approved layout plan of Wave City. The proposal included land-use changes relating to a PSP plot measuring approximately 8,035.44 square metres in Sector-1, as well as a commercial plot measuring approximately 14,756.86 square metres.
Necessary modifications in land use and planning in accordance with actual requirements will facilitate more effective utilisation of available land in the developed area.
The board meeting considered a proposal relating to the approval of the layout plan for the first phase covering 589.02 acres under the revised DPR for the ‘Suncity’ Township, which has a revised total area of 2,420.11 acres.
The proposal was submitted under the Uttar Pradesh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Policy, 2022.
Availability of planned land for industrial use will create a foundation for promoting MSME activities, investment and employment opportunities in the area.
The Board held detailed discussions on a proposal concerning the revised DPR of the Sunrise Green Integrated Township in Shahpur Bamheta.
The revised DPR will provide a framework for advancing the township’s development in accordance with the area’s actual development potential, available land and planning requirements.
Overall, the proposals unanimously approved at the 174th Board Meeting represent significant steps towards developing Ghaziabad in a more planned, modern, well-equipped, economically active and future-ready manner.
