Four workers killed in Mirzapur stone-plant collapse

Four workers were killed after a building at a stone crusher plant collapsed in Mirzapur district on Saturday, officials said.
The incident occurred at the SS Ranjan Stone Plant in Bhagwati Dei under the Aharora police station area, about 50 km from the district headquarters. The building, which housed the plant office, collapsed after its foundation ramp reportedly sank into the ground.
Chunar SDM Anek Singh said four workers were inside the office when it collapsed and all of them died.
The deceased were identified as Lal Bahadur (35), Ashok (38), Rakesh (28), and Duryodhan (28). All four were residents of Badagaon in the Churk-Chopan area of neighbouring Sonbhadra district, he said.
Police and senior officials reached the spot following the incident, while machinery was used to clear the debris. A search operation was also launched at the site.
Divisional Commissioner Rajesh Prakash, along with senior officials, inspected the spot and directed officials to investigate the incident.
