Sir — This refers to the article, “General concern in Pakistan” (September 4) by Nadeem Paracha. The article gives a vivid account of the Army’s role in Pakistan. But what is more interesting is that the first two British Army Chiefs in the Pakistan Army dissuaded Pakistan Governor General MA Jinnah from an invasion of Kashmir by the Pakistan Army. This exposes Jinnah and his ill-intentions about Kashmir in particular and truncated India in general. It is indeed unfortunate that many Indians, including top leaders of the BJP, praised Jinnah, who should in fact, be classed along with mass murderers like Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and later Mao Tse Tung. This proves that Jinnah’s August 11, 1947, speech was a mere eye-wash to hoodwink the international community.
