Engineering excellence takes centre stage at IEI Awards

The Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI) will host the 18th IEI Industry Excellence Award 2026 and the 5th IEI Engineering Education Excellence Award 2026 on September 19 at the SCOPE Convention Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
The awards will bring together leaders from industry, engineering, academia, research and technology to recognise organisations and institutions contributing to India’s engineering ecosystem.
Established in 1920 and granted a Royal Charter in 1935, IEI represents more than 2.6 lakh corporate members across 15 engineering disciplines.
The IEI Industry Excellence Award, instituted in 2008, recognises organisations for achievements in innovation, engineering operations, quality, productivity, governance, safety and sustained performance. The 2026 awards will cover categories including engineering manufacturing and processing, engineering services and consultancy, construction, MSMEs, startups, agriculture and food security, industrial innovation, emerging technology leadership, sustainable engineering practices, and defence and aerospace excellence.
The Engineering Education Excellence Award will recognise institutions and academic leaders contributing to engineering and technology education. Categories include engineering colleges and institutions, polytechnics, women’s engineering institutions, innovation in teaching, research excellence, academic-industry collaboration and Institution of the Year.
Dr Ranga Reddy Enti, Chairman, IEI Awards 2026, said the awards would provide a national platform to recognise organisations and institutions that combine excellence with innovation, responsibility and vision.
The event will also provide opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange and strategic business engagement among industry leaders, engineering professionals, policymakers, academicians and researchers.
