Delhi Police register four FIRs against Rahul, Priyanka over anti-CEC protests

The Delhi Police have registered at least four FIRs against Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other leaders for allegedly obstructing public servants during two days of protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in Lutyens' Delhi, sources said on Thursday.
The cases have been registered under provisions relating to assault, obstructing public servants from performing their duties and violating Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), the sources said.
The development comes a day after the police registered an FIR against Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for allegedly forcing their way into Akashvani Bhawan.
Police said 91 people, including several MPs, were detained during Wednesday's protest. The protesters were stopped while attempting to march to Jantar Mantar for a sit-in demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over allegations of "vote theft".
