CRPF to celebrate raising day with public shows

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is set to enthral the residents of Guwahati with a series of high-octane public display programmes beginning February 12. Organised as a prelude to the prestigious CRPF Raising Day Parade–2026, the week-long celebrations aim to foster public engagement through a showcase of discipline, skill, and cultural heritage. According to a press intimation issued on Monday, the events will span multiple iconic locations across the city, featuring motorcycle stunts, brass band performances, and yoga sessions.
The festivities will kick off at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra on February 12, followed by programmes at Sati Radhika Shanti Park on February 13. One of the primary highlights of the schedule is the motorcycle show, where the force’s elite riders will perform daring stunts. These displays are slated for February 15 at the Khanapara Walking Zone and February 17 at the Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu.
To promote fitness and mindfulness, daily yoga sessions have been scheduled between 6.30 am and 7.30 am at most venues, including the Brahmaputra River Heritage Centre. In the evenings, the CRPF Band will provide a patriotic soundtrack to the city’s sunsets with performances scheduled between 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm. A senior official noted that such initiatives allow the paramilitary force to strengthen its bond with the civilian population while demonstrating its multifaceted capabilities. The events conclude on February 17, marking a grand lead-up to the official Raising Day Parade. All residents and media representatives have been invited to witness the displays.
