Corteva introduces Mavilon for pest management in rice

Corteva has introduced Mavilon, a granular insecticide for pest management in rice in India. Corteva unveiled the product at a launch event in Hyderabad, where CEO Chuck Magro joined customers, channel partners, and key stakeholders to mark the occasion.
Rice in India is a daily staple, central to the agri-economy. Yet across rice-growing regions, farmers face a persistent and costly threat. Pests like Brown Planthopper (BPH) and stem borer cause crop stress, yield loss, and reduced grain quality. Most farmers manage these pests reactively, spraying only after infestation is visible. This approach has real limitations. Delayed detection means damage is often already underway before action is taken. Labor shortages at peak periods, combined with dependence on rain-free windows, add further operational uncertainty at critical moments in the crop cycle.
Applied once at 30–35 days after transplanting, Mavilon begins protecting the crop before visible damage occurs. Its innovative granular formulation delivers up to 60 days of control against BPH and up to 15 days against stem borer. This helps safeguard the crop through its most yield-critical phases. By intervening early, Mavilon™ helps farmers stay ahead of pest pressure rather than responding to it.
The benefits extend beyond protection. By reducing dependence on repeated foliar sprays, Mavilon cuts operational complexity and the need for last-minute interventions. Farmers gain greater control over their operations, higher and more predictable outcomes each season. Mavilon furthers Corteva’s commitment to scientific and sustainable crop protection solutions that safeguard crop health and strengthen grower profitability across India.
