Conch-blowing marks 9th National Nutrition Month launch in east Delhi

The Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD), East District, organised the launch ceremony of the 9th National Nutrition Month at the Kondli Project with a ceremonial conch-blowing. This month-long campaign is being organised from 9 September to 8 October 2026, with the objective of promoting awareness and effective action regarding nutrition, health, hygiene, and overall well-being among children, women, and the community.
The programme was inaugurated by District Magistrate (East Delhi), Shri Karanjeet Vadodia, by lighting the ceremonial lamp, following which the 9th National Nutrition Month was formally launched. The lamp-lighting ceremony symbolised a collective commitment towards improving the nutritional status of women and children and promoting awareness about healthy lifestyles and nutrition in the community. On this occasion, views and experiences regarding the importance of National Nutrition Month were shared. The District Magistrate interacted with the Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers present and appreciated their work, encouraging them to continue working with dedication, sincerity, and commitment.
During the programme, various cultural programmes were presented by Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers. Through these performances, the messages and themes of National Nutrition Month were effectively highlighted. The cultural presentations reflected the enthusiasm, creativity, and active participation of the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers towards nutrition and healthy lifestyles.
A special exhibition of ‘Best out of Waste’ materials prepared by the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers of East District was also organised during the programme. The District Magistrate (East Delhi) visited the exhibition and appreciated the efforts made by the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers towards the reuse of waste materials, creativity, and environmental protection.
The District Magistrate (East Delhi) appreciated the collective efforts of the entire DWCD East District team in successfully organising the programme and promoting the objectives of National Nutrition Month. He encouraged all Anganwadi Workers and Helpers to continuously improve their work and service delivery and called upon them to work with dedication, integrity, and team spirit so that East District continues to perform excellently and brings pride to the entire district.
The programme concluded with a collective commitment by all stakeholders to work towards better nutrition, health, hygiene, and overall well-being of children, women, and the community. The event reflected the commitment of East District towards effectively advancing the objectives of the 9th National Nutrition Month.
