CM Joseph Vijay and newly elected MLAs take oath in Tamil Nadu Assembly

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, along with nine ministers and newly elected legislators, took oath as members of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on Monday.
The oath ceremony was administered by Pro-Tem Speaker M. V. Karuppaiah after the Assembly proceedings began at 9.30 am in Chennai.
Chief Minister Vijay was the first to take oath as an MLA, followed by ministers including N. Anand and Aadhav Arjuna.
Several senior political leaders also took oath during the session, including DMK legislature party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, AIADMK leader and former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, and former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam.
Other AIADMK legislators, including Agri Krishnamurthy and K. P. Anbalagan, were also sworn in as members of the Assembly.
The oath-taking ceremony marks the formal beginning of proceedings for the newly constituted Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly following the 2026 Assembly elections.
