CJP leaders Dipke, Ranka and Das under preventive arrest, to be produced before magistrate

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das have been placed under preventive arrest, a senior Delhi Police officer said on Sunday, October 11. They will be produced before the Executive Magistrate at Delhi Cantt Police Station.
The three were detained after their flight landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday. They were on their way to the planned protest at Jantar Mantar. Police personnel entered the aircraft shortly after it landed and took them into custody as a preventive measure.
CJP legal affairs head Ratna Singh said a Delhi Police official had told her the three would be produced before the magistrate at 9 am on Sunday. She said she would be at the police station with other advocates representing the party.
Police had made elaborate security arrangements for the protest. They foiled attempts by protesters to reach Jantar Mantar on Saturday.
Singh also said the party had not filed any petition in the Supreme Court seeking the release of its detained leaders and members. She said a petition circulating on social media was not filed by the CJP.
