Chhattisgarh CM Sai secures INR 43,600 crore FDI commitments from Singapore

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has secured investment commitments worth Rs 43,600 crore from Singapore, among the biggest such commitments the state has received during a single visit.
Chhattisgarh and Haryana were the only two states nominated by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to participate in the inaugural Singapore-India Network for Growth (SING) Forum 2026.
During the three-day visit, the state secured a commitment of Rs 41,750 crore for an AI-ready data centre campus, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ITE Education Services, Singapore, for skilling initiatives and explored potential partnerships with Gardens by the Bay and Mandai Wildlife Group, according to a press release issued by the chief minister's delegation on Wednesday.
The delegation returned to Raipur on Tuesday after its Singapore visit.
The largest investment commitment came from Singapore-based Energy Capital Global (ECG), which plans to establish a 100 MW AI-ready data centre campus in Chhattisgarh at an estimated investment of Rs 41,750 crore.
Sunstream Green Energy Pvt Ltd received an Invitation to Invest worth Rs 1,500 crore for a 300 MW solar power project equipped with battery storage.
Valency International Pte Ltd, a global agribusiness company with operations in 22 countries, received an Invitation to Invest worth Rs 350 crore to establish an integrated agro and food processing and export hub aimed at creating a farm-to-market value chain in the state.
The proposed investments are expected to create opportunities across multiple sectors, the release said. Young professionals could find employment opportunities in areas such as artificial intelligence, advanced digital infrastructure and advanced manufacturing.
Startups and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are also expected to benefit by becoming suppliers and business partners to global companies, while farmers could gain access to international markets, it said.
As part of efforts to prepare young people for these emerging industries, the state signed an MoU with ITE Education Services for technical and vocational education and training. The partnership will focus on developing industry-aligned curricula and improving pathways to employment.
At the SING Forum, organised by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), Chhattisgarh showcased its economic growth and investment opportunities.
The forum was attended by Singapore Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry Gan Siow Huang, SBF Chairman Mark Lee, SBF CEO Kok Ping Soon and senior executives from companies including Mastercard, Nestlé and IHCL (Taj Hotels).
During a fireside chat, Sai said Chhattisgarh was pursuing reforms based on industry requirements and that the state's investment efforts were focused on generating employment opportunities across the state.
The chief minister also met Singapore's Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and discussed ways to strengthen India-Singapore relations at the state level, including cooperation in investment, skill development, urban planning and technology.
Sai also led a CEO roundtable with representatives of more than 15 global companies, including TCS, SMBC, Tolaram Group and Agrocorp.
Meetings with Gardens by the Bay and Mandai Wildlife Group also opened up possibilities for cooperation in green development and tourism.
The state said it would use learnings from Gardens by the Bay to develop botanical gardens in Nava Raipur and expand green spaces across Chhattisgarh.
Mandai Wildlife Group discussed potential cooperation to develop Nandanvan Jungle Safari, described as Asia's largest man-made jungle safari, into a world-class wildlife destination, which could boost tourism and create employment opportunities.
"This visit has shown the world that Chhattisgarh is ready for global investment, and we return with commitments, partnerships and a clear path forward," Sai said. (with inputs from PTI)
