Central Bank of India receives first Rajbhasha Kirti Award
The Central Bank of India was conferred the First Rajbhasha Kirti Award for its outstanding implementation of Official Language Hindi at the All India Rajbhasha Conference organised by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, in Navi Mumbai on 14-15 September 2026.
During the conference, the Rajbhasha Shield, presented as the First Prize, was received by the Bank’s Managing Director & CEO, Kalyan Kumar, from the Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation, Amit Shah, in the presence of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, and Sumitra Panwar. This honour is a proud recognition of the bank’s sustained efforts towards effective implementation of the official language, promotion and propagation of Hindi, and its continued commitment to the official language policy.
On this occasion, a special ‘Heritage Edition’ of the Bank’s bilingual in-house magazine, ‘Centralite’, published to commemorate the completion of 100 years of the magazine, was released by the Minister of State for Official Language, Nityanand Rai, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and Secretary, Department of Official Language, Anshuli Arya. The special edition showcases the glorious heritage, growth journey, and institutional values of the Central Bank of India.
During the conference, the Bank also set up a special exhibition showcasing its glorious journey of 115 years. The exhibition attractively presented the Bank’s heritage, innovation initiatives, achievements in the field of Official Language, and its development journey through various models and presentations. The exhibition effectively highlighted not only the Bank’s historical achievements but also its innovative approach to modern banking and its vision for the future.
On this significant occasion, the Bank’s Managing Director & CEO, Kalyan Kumar, Executive Director, Mahendra Dohare, Chief General Manager-Rajbhasha, Kushal Pal, Assistant General Manager-Rajbhasha, Hitendra Dhumal, and Rajbhasha Officers posted across the country participated in the conference.
