BSF Personnel conferred with Gallantry, President’s Medal

PRESIDENT’S MEDAL FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE (PSM) - 05

On the occasion of 80th Independence Day 2026, 20 BSF personnel have been awarded with Medal for Gallantry, 5 have been awarded the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) and 42 have been awarded with Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM).

20 BSF personnel of 94 Battalion BSF have been awarded with Medal for Gallantry in recognition of their conspicuous bravery during a meticulously planned Anti-Naxal operation on 15/16 April 2024.

This operation was carried out jointly by troops of 94 Battalion BSF and DRG of Chhattisgarh Police in area of village Binagunda and Kalpar in the highly Naxal-affected District Kanker of Chhattisgarh.

The operation resulted in elimination of 29 hard-core Naxal cadres and also in recovery of huge cache of arms & ammunition.
