BSES bags 3 awards at Bharat Electricity 2026

BSES won three prestigious awards at the Bharat Electricity Leadership Honours, held as part of Bharat Electricity, POWERGEN India & Indian Utility Week 2026, spotlighting leadership, operational excellence and sustainable innovation in the power distribution sector.
The awardees were selected by an eminent jury of power-sector leaders and experts, and the awards were presented by Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Government of India. Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairperson, Central Electricity Authority, was also present on stage.
Amal Sinha, Director & Group CEO, BSES, was named ‘Distribution Leader of the Year’, recognising a leadership journey marked by vision, institution-building and transformative impact.
Under Sinha’s leadership, BSES has continued to move beyond the conventional role of a power distribution utility, with a growing focus on clean energy, battery energy storage, digital intelligence, grid resilience and consumer-centric innovation.
BRPL, meanwhile, was named ‘State Distribution Utility of the Year’ for its sustained focus on operational excellence, reliability, technology-led transformation and consumer service. BRPL also received the ‘Best Sustainable Power Distribution Project of the Year’ award for its pioneering 1 MVA SF6-Free Underground 11 kV Substation.
Abhishek Ranjan, CEO, BRPL, accompanied by Team BRPL, received both awards on behalf of the company. Amal Sinha joined the team on stage for the ‘State Distribution Utility of the Year’ recognition.
Together, the three awards underline BSES’ continuing journey of transformation, with leadership, innovation, sustainability and operational excellence at the heart of its efforts to build a safer, smarter, greener and future-ready power distribution network.
