BRO builds 180-foot Bailey Bridge in Kurung Kumey

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has completed the construction of a 180-foot Bailey Bridge in the remote Kurung Kumey district of Arunachal Pradesh, boosting critical connectivity to forward border areas. Executed under Project Arunank, the bridge was launched by the team of 85 Road Construction Company (RCC) and 756 Border Roads Task Force in extremely challenging conditions, marked by relentless rainfall, flash-flood risks and treacherous mountainous terrain. Officials stated that BRO personnel worked day and night to overcome severe logistical and environmental obstacles during their deployment.
The newly completed triple-double reinforced (TDR) Bailey bridge is expected to significantly enhance the movement of security forces, equipment and essential supplies in the sector while also serving as a vital lifeline for local residents living in remote border pockets.
